FreewareWire is all about free stuff. It's all about helping people out. Merge those two together, and I've got a request for you. There are a few things you could do to help get FreewareWire off the ground, but it's not like I could pay you or anything. But if you want to help out, here are some things that FrewareWire needs:
Skin: Yes, it looks boring. Unfortunately, I am a novice in CSS and HTML, so I don't even want to TRY to make this look nice. However, if someone were to want to use their skills to make FreewareWire look nice, it would be greatly appreciated.
Main logo: In addition to the skin, FreewareWire needs a main logo. If you think taking on a blogger skin is too heavy, just make a main logo for the top with both "FreewareWire" and the subtitle ("because the best things in life are free.....ware"), and then make a favicon with something simple like maybe just the letters "FW" to match the logo. Again, graphic design is not my strong suite, and I'd rather have it simple than look bad.
Coding: More important to me than skinning, right now, is coding. At the moment, I don't know a good way to make every single tags separate (like I have them now), and the title of every freeware, so I have to manually edit that. If someone could come up with an easier way to automate this, I would be forever in your debt.
Co-author: Yes, it's a heavy duty. So far, I think I have 50 posts that I have just the titles of lined up, and that was just portable applications off my flash drive. I need help authoring posts, so if you have a zeal for freeware and think you get the flow of the site, consider becoming a co-author.
Explorer: If you find new freeware, drop me a line. Just make sure it's good, and you have tested it yourself. Keep in mind, though, that it will probably be a while till I can get to it...
Spread the word: I don't mean to push it, but if you want, just post in a forum about this. Or if you find freeware through this site, when people ask say "I found it on FreewareWire."
Those are just a few things. Feel free to drop me a line at freewarewire@gmail.com any time.
